Frequently Asked Questions
Can I keep my existing phones?
Usually, yes. If you have standard SIP-compatible VoIP phones from major manufacturers (Yealink, Polycom, Cisco, Grandstream, etc.), we can likely provision them for our service. We'll assess your current phones during setup and let you know if any need to be replaced.
What if I have old analog phones?
Analog phones (the kind with a traditional phone cord) can work with our service using an ATA adapter. However, you'll miss out on features like line keys, caller ID display, and visual voicemail. For most users, upgrading to even a basic VoIP phone is worth it.
Do I have to buy phones from you?
No. You can purchase phones from us, buy them elsewhere, or use existing equipment. If you buy elsewhere, just make sure they're standard SIP phones from reputable manufacturers. We're happy to recommend specific models.
Do you lease phones?
We typically recommend purchasing phones outright—they're a one-time cost and you own them. That said, we can discuss lease arrangements for larger deployments if that better fits your budget.
Who sets up the phones?
We handle all the configuration. Phones arrive pre-provisioned with your settings, extensions, and line keys programmed. Plug them into your network and they're ready to go. For local practices, we can do on-site installation if you prefer.
What happens if a phone breaks?
Phones from us typically include a manufacturer warranty (1-2 years). If a phone fails, we'll help troubleshoot and arrange replacement. With VoIP, swapping phones is easy—the new phone picks up all the settings automatically.
Can I use my cell phone or computer instead of a desk phone?
Yes. Our mobile app turns your smartphone into your business phone, and our desktop app does the same for your computer. Make and receive calls using your business number, transfer calls, check voicemail—all without a desk phone. Many users skip the desk phone entirely or use the apps alongside it.
What about remote workers or satellite offices?
VoIP phones work anywhere with internet. Staff working from home can have a desk phone at home that works exactly like being in the office. Or they can use the desktop app or mobile app—no special setup required.
How many phones do I need?
That depends on your practice. Common areas may share phones. Some staff prefer the mobile app over a desk phone. We'll help you figure out the right mix during our discovery call—no pressure to overbuy.
Not Sure What You Need?
Tell us about your practice and we'll recommend the right mix of hardware—or confirm your existing phones will work.
